El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, anunció un importante acuerdo con su homólogo ruso, Vladimir Putin. El pacto permitirá que Rusia suministre de manera inmediata más de 300,000 toneladas de combustible diésel al mercado estadounidense y global.
El acuerdo prevé que se entreguen otras 500,000 toneladas durante el mes de noviembre y un millón de toneladas adicionales en el corto plazo, según ha informado Trump a través de sus redes sociales.

Aunque haciendo referencia implícita a los ataques ucranianos a las infraestructuras energéticas de Moscú, Trump ha aclarado que todo depende del estado de las refinerías rusas. El presidente espera que Rusia pueda entregar tres millones de toneladas de diésel en poco tiempo.
Trump ha afirmado con optimismo que, gracias al control ejercido por su país sobre el estrecho de Ormuz (opuesto a la situación real, ya que está bloqueado por Irán mientras Estados Unidos mantiene influencia en sus alrededores), los precios del diésel disminuirán rápidamente y alcanzarán cifras récord para beneficio de los estadounidenses y del resto del mundo.
